PREVENTION OF KNEE INJURIES USING TEAM SPORTS IN THE AGED POPULATION

ABSTRACT Introduction: The aging population in the growing national industrialization and urbanization supports an unhealthy lifestyle where prevention control of chronic diseases are difficult. Approximately 68% elderly have some type disease, mostly musculoskeletal, especially knee joint, compromising their autonomy affecting social life, with psychological impacts long term. Team sports suggest great therapeutic potential this group, but there few studies. Objective: Analyze situation team among elderly, propose methods to prevent joint injuries, test these implements’ preventive effects. Methods: 92 volunteers who participated community were selected. To understand causes main types analyzed during sports, including using FMS method for health testing. Results: After tests, it can be seen that mean score all is 14.23 points, total 12.00-17.00; overall injury increased by 2.65, female greatly benefited. Conclusion: proposed measures focused on AFF examinations significantly improved, indicating actions effective deserve replicated. Level evidence II; Therapeutic studies - investigation treatment outcomes.
